"The Mandalorian": a review of the third series

Okay, I was wrong. Disney really decided that a 30-minute episode of "The Mandalorian" is exactly what the audience needs. There's a lot going on in the third episode, but it's still too short! But despite the timing, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni managed to cram a lot of interesting references to the original trilogy into the episode.

Mando's return to the unnamed bounty hunter planet ended with a rather cold-blooded transfer of a mini-Yoda to the hero of Werner Herzog and the receipt of a solid batch of Beskar. People who have not been on the ZV forums since the advent of the Internet have not remembered the moment of the award ceremony, although there is a huge Easter egg hidden here. The fact is that in "The Empire Strikes Back" there is a moment when, after the start of the incident on Bespin, a character with a bucket can be seen in the frame, which very much resembles an ice cream machine. The "dude with the ice cream girl" costume has become very popular among fans and entire groups of his followers can be seen at comic-cons.

In the third episode, ZV supporters finally found out why such a bucket is needed - it's a portable safe. Mando, having some doubts about his own decision to give the baby away, nevertheless takes the reward in order to regain his full-fledged armor. As a result, we find ourselves back in the underground forge of the Mandalorians, which we have already seen in the pilot. It turns out that there is a hiding place of warriors on this planet, where they hide from the outside world. It is not yet known exactly from what exactly - the Empire that staged the massacre on Mandalore has already fallen, so it seems that there is no point in hiding its existence to the former exiles.

However, thanks to a short dialogue, we learned some interesting details about the Mandalorians. First of all, it's an order that you can join by accepting its rules-you don't have to be of that particular race. Secondly, one of the conditions of brotherhood is to wear a helmet at all times - an interesting detail, because in the "Clone Wars" and "Rebels" many Mandalorians went without it. Thirdly, cooperation with the splinters of the Empire among the members of the order is unacceptable, as the brothers Insistently point out. The main one was voiced by Jon Favreau, who already had experience voicing the mercenary Paz Wizzlu in the Clone Wars. However, it is unknown if this is the same character.

And finally, we still don't know if Pedro Pascal's character will be a real Mandalorian. The flashbacks that are shown to us take place during the Clone Wars, as indicated by the droids and unknown planet. At the same time, the hero tells his colleagues that sweepers are an important part of the order, he even leaves a part of Beskar for them. In fact, the third episode became a full-fledged beginning of the series. It is likely that the antagonists of the show will be the Client played by the Duke (as well as those who stand above him), as well as Vulture Karga, who survived thanks to Beskar. The main character will have to look for a new place in this world - he is unlikely to be allowed to work quietly with such a laconic goal in his hands.
