Our client, a large systems integrator, is looking to hire 2 z/OS Automation Consultants for a 12-month remote contract. The consultant will be working with the IBM Software Migration Project office (SMPO) working to implement and support automation solutions within IBM Z mainframe environments, focusing on enhancing system availability and reducing manual operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Automation: Implementing, configuring, and maintaining IBM Z System Automation (SA z/OS) and NetView to maximize availability and minimize manual intervention.
- Scripting and Tools: Developing REXX scripts and JCL to automate operational processes and troubleshooting issues using TSO/ISPF.
- Migration Projects: Leading or participating in z/OS automation migration projects to ensure smooth transitions.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years working in a mainframe operations environment providing an operational, service, consultancy or support role
- Must have experience with z/OS Automation migration projects
- OPS/MVS and/or BMC Auto Operator (but OPS/MVS is preferred)
- System Automation/ Netview implementation or migration experience.
- Working Knowledge of the System Automation Policy Database (PDB)
- Strong REXX coding skills.
- Demonstrated strong written and communications skills
- The ability to use TSO and ISPF
- JCL skills
