Our client, a large professional services firm located in Philadelphia, PA, is looking to hire an Azure Virtual Desktop/Windows 365 Lead Engineer for a 3 month contract. The consultant will be working 100% on-site near downtown Philadelphia to lead a migration from Omnissa Horizon (formerly VMware Horizon) to Microsoft Windows 365 and/or Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
The consultant will work to assess the existing VDI architecture and user personas to define appropriate transition strategies. The consultant will build, customize, and optimize Windows 11 images for cloud and virtual desktop environments as well as develop and implement Intune-based policies for device compliance, configuration, and application deployment. The consultant will integrate and configure IGEL OS endpoints for compatibility with Windows 365/AVD environments.
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in end-user computing (EUC) or VDI environments, with recent experience in Microsoft cloud desktop platforms.
- Experience migrating from VMware Omnissa
- Strong experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, Intune, and Windows 11 Image creation.
- Application deployment for Windows 11, IGEL endpoint management for AVD & W365
- The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern endpoint management, image engineering, and application deployment within Windows 11 environments.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing Windows 365 and/or AVD solutions.

- Prior experience in higher education or public sector
- Experience with FSLogix, OneDrive for Business, and user profile management in virtual environments.
