Our client, a large professional services firm, is looking to hire a Cloud & Network Automation Engineer for a 4-month remote contract. This would be a resident that would do 30 hours/week for 4 months. The ideal candidate will have experience with AWS networking and managing it using Terraform.
The consultant will review, refine and provide improvements to existing Terraform code authored by internal platform teams.
Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience automating cloud infrastructure using Terraform or OpenTofu
- Strong understanding of AWS networking, including VPC architecture, routing, Cloud WAN, inspection VPCs, and multi-region designs
- Able to provide guidance on Terraform operational best practices including remote state management, CI/CD orchestration patterns, and secure execution models aligned with enterprise security controls
- Ability to assess existing environments and standardize configurations within a mostly greenfield, light brownfield context
- Experience designing environments where all ingress and egress traffic flows through centralized inspection VPCs
- Familiarity with segmentation between cloud-only traffic and on-premises connectivity models
- Experience integrating cloud environments with centralized identity systems such as Identity Center and Entra ID
- Understanding of user access models for administrative versus non-administrative users in shared management networks
- Ability to evaluate tooling direction while respecting open-source preferences
- Experience with Ansible-based network automation for switches and routers

The expected hourly rate range for this role is: $60.75 – 94.25 per hour
