Our client, a large government contractor with offices located in Linthicum, MD, is in need of a Secret Cleared Windows Systems Administrator to work onsite for a 6-month contract with great chance of extension and/or full-time conversion.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
- Analyze internal and external customer requirements to determine appropriate hardware and software requirements for solutions to problems, by means of automated systems.
- Create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions and security access lists in a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
- Maintain security audit and logging information on all classified networked and standalone computers as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
- Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network, software, and system engineers, PC desktop technicians, project managers, end users, customer, and IT management.
- Provide backup and recovery services, manage file systems and disk space, and manage virus protection on a routine basis.
- Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
- Support multiple networks while ensuring necessary administration tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Required Skills
- Associate’s degree and 7 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience, or Master’s degree and 3 years of experience; a High School diploma or equivalent with 9 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or Higher
- The selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP/SAR) clearance as a condition of continued employment.
- Experience managing Windows Server OS and Active Directory domain architecture.
- Prior experience working in an air gapped environment and knowledge of how when you disconnect a system from the internet how it works differently
- Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments.
- Must be able to build windows servers from scratch based on program STIG
- Experience working with virtual servers in a VMware environment
- Prior experience working in an air gapped environment and knowledge of how when you disconnect a system from the internet how it works differently
- Candidates must be a U.S. born citizen per customer requirement
Nice to Have Skills:
- Understanding of basic networking, including subnets, routing, and VLANs; Cisco experience and/or certification a plus.
- Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (HBSS/Solar Winds/Splunk).
- Current Security+ CE, CISSP, CASP, or similar certification, or the ability to acquire certification within 6 months of hire date; maintaining the required certification will be a condition of continued employment.
