Our client, a large professional services firm located in New York, NY, is looking to hire a Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery Consultant for an 11 month contract. The consultant will work a hybrid schedule in NYC, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, in support of the ongoing tech modernization program specific to disaster recovery for cloud transformation efforts. The consultant will be collaborating across various business units to design cloud based disaster recovery strategies, backup polices, and geo-redundant storage solutions to ensure data replication and infrastructure recovery across multiple data centers and clouds in multiple regions.
The consultant will assist in mapping dependencies between different applications and infrastructure components for detailed recovery sequences as well as conduct application dependency assessments to identify critical systems and services, ensuring all dependencies are accounted for in disaster recovery plans. The consultant is going to implement policies and procedures for disaster recovery planning for cloud and on-premises solutions and manage recovery plan development and maintenance activities to ensure plans are current and compliant.
The consultant will manage the test lifecycle supporting and facilitating testing with infrastructure and applications teams in alignment with DR program requirements.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of technical disaster recovery planning and design experience
- Ability to create detailed disaster recovery runbooks to streamline recovery processes for both IT and third party vendors.
- Experience collaborating with infrastructure and application teams on discussions and requirements for disaster recovery including experience with recovery of cloud infrastructure and services
- Ability to provide project leadership, when needed, for the purpose of planning, directing, controlling, developing, and maintaining the disaster recovery program.
