Our client, a large systems integrator, is looking to hire an experienced Broadcom OPS/MVS Administrator with strong REXX Automation skills for a critical 6–12-month remote mainframe modernization and optimization project. In this role, the consultant will be responsible for maintaining enterprise-level mainframe automation solutions using Broadcom (formerly CA) OPS/MVS on IBM z/OS environments. The ideal consultant will possess advanced programmatic capabilities in OPS/REXX to create automation rules and scripts that enhance system availability and minimize manual intervention.
Required Skills:
- Ability to design, write, test, and debug complex, high-performance REXX and OPS/REXX programs to handle sophisticated automation logic, error trapping, and system utilities.
- Experience creating, modifying and optimizing Automated Operations Facility (AOF) rules to intercept console messages, commands, end-of-job (EOJ) events, and system alerts.
- Able to configure, manage, and audit SSM tables, policies, and resources to ensure automated state management of subsystems and started tasks.
- Experience installing, configuring, upgrasing, and maintaining the Broadcom OPS/MVS environment across multiple LPARs.
- Utilize OPSLOG to analyze system events, research failures, and perform root-cause analysis on automation anomalies or z/OS system drops.
- Configure and maintain MSF to support cross-LPAR communication and unified automation strategies across the Sysplex.
- Experience monitoring and tuning the OPS/MVS address space parameters, queues, and rule execution times to minimize CPU overhead

The expected hourly rate range for this role is: $45 to $71 per hour
