Our client, a federal technology provider, needs a full-time Ansible Systems Engineer based out of Columbia, MD. This individual will be working a hybrid schedule, 2 days in office, 3 days remote to support internal product development teams. Their primary responsibility will be building out complex automation framework to deploy in a production environment to physical hardware. This will include leading implementation, design, testing and maintenance of complex Ansible playbooks, roles and modules to automate deployment of Defensive Cyber Operation kits. The candidate should be proficient with configuring and automatic network appliances, implementing security controls including STIG hardening and SELinux within the automation pipeline and implementing CI/CD GitHub Action pipelines to perform extensive automatic testing.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer or Systems Engineer in a highly regulated environment
- Expert-level Ansible experience including playbooks, roles, modules, Jinja2, Collections, Vault, and Galaxy
- Strong Linux administration experience, especially Fedora variants such as RHEL, Rocky, and Oracle Linux
- Proficiency in Python and Bash for automation and custom module development
- Experience with container and virtualization technologies such as VMware, Kubernetes, Docker, and Podman
- Strong cybersecurity knowledge including system hardening, patching, authentication, and log management
- Experience with Git and GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile tools such as Jira

The expected base salary range for this role is: 125K-145K per year
