Our client, a large VAR and professional services partner, is looking to hire a Senior Storage Engineer for a 6-month remote contract supporting a large customer in a staff augmentation capacity. The consultant will be working to optimize, scale, and maintain the customer’s enterprise file and object storage infrastructure. The ideal candidate must possess deep hands-on expertise with both Qumulo and VAST Data platforms.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage, monitor, and provision high-performance storage environments across Qumulo and VAST Data platforms.
- Optimize data workflows, cluster health, and throughput for data-intensive workloads.
- Execute seamless data migrations, data tiering, and configure robust replication/DR strategies.
- Root-cause complex hardware, software, and networking issues intersecting with the storage fabric.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 3+ years of production experience managing multi-petabyte Qumulo and VAST Data clusters.
- Strong deep-dive knowledge of NFS, SMB, and S3 object storage protocols.
- Experience with Linux enterprise environments and high-speed storage networking (InfiniBand/Ethernet).
- Proficiency in scripting (Python or Bash) utilizing storage APIs for automation is highly preferred.
