Our client, located in northern VA, is currently in need of a Secret cleared VMware Consulting Architect for a 6 month contract with potential for extensions. The consultant will work onsite in support of the design and deployment of VMware solutions at federal clients and engagements.
Work Requirements:
- Hands on solution design, integrating both technical and business concepts, and present a transformational journey to project stakeholders.
- Carry activities such as: technical contribution and guidance in project planning, lead in high level and low-level design, solution validation, impact analysis of change requests, etc.
- Leveraging technical skillset and help to quickly build trustworthy relationship with customer in pre-sales stages through technical workshops, RFX responses, PS solution customization, scoping exercises and LOE estimation etc.
- Drive efficiency in delivery model.
- Assist with refinement and optimization of customer lifecycle and VMware Telco Cloud portfolio.
- Above all we drive successful business outcomes for our customers and provide valuable insight to our product teams.
Required Skills:
- Strong client facing experience as a Consulting Architect or Solutions Engineer focused on VMware solutions
- 5 years experience in architecting and designing data center automation and network function virtualization private cloud solutions.
- Working experience with VMware VCF Infrastructure – vSphere, NSX-T, vCD, Aria, etc
- An understanding of the telecommunications market, NFV/SDN context, standards, technology and use cases
- Hands on familiarity with scripting using Python and troubleshooting approaches
- Knowledge of cloud native application concepts
- Active DoD Secret or higher clearance
- Willing to work at client site 4 days a week
Preferred or Nice to Have Skills:
- Holds a VMware certification
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certification
- Holds more than one VMware Advanced Professional certification or TOGAF certified
- Experience with Kubernetes, Cloud Native technologies
