Sr. Data Center Architect

Our client, with offices across the northeast, is in need of a Sr. Data Center Architect for a 6 month contract with opportunity for full time conversion. The Sr. Data Center Engineer will work a mix of onsite and remote as they travel up to 75% throughout the northeast as a customer-focused technical professional providing in-depth technical knowledge and specific Cisco networking design/information guidance as a member of the professional services team supporting enterprise and federal customers. This individual is an expert in design, implementation, and troubleshooting of datacenter technologies. The successful candidate will be detailed oriented with exceptional organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for professional services projects including full-scale ACI and Cisco Nexus deployments
  • Provide deep technical experience around data center technologies including ACI and BGP routing
  • Perform project tasks as required
  • Effectively manage time and be able to support multiple, complex projects simultaneously
  • Design and implement a solution to understand inventory of order, cabling, configuration, and conversion of configuration to new platform
  • Operate in a customer-facing role, and be able to provide clear, confident, and consultatory guidance to customer staff

 
Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years related experience in a field or deployment-based role.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco ACI and high level BGP routing
  • Strong understanding of fiber, power requirements, SFPs, single vs multi-mode fiber, and labeling best practice
  • Ability to guide smart hands on-site
  • Prior experience as a technical lead
  • At least one of the following:
    • Cisco CCNP – Datacenter
    • Cisco CCNP – CCNP Enterprise with ACI Cert
    • Extensive ACI experience 
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and nontechnical teams
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • US Citizen with the ability to pass a criminal background investigation including fingerprinting
  • Must be open to travel up to 75% to customer sites within the northeast region

  • Additional active and verified professional level OEM certifications
  • Prior experience working with government clients
