Our client, a leading Consulting Firm, is in need of a Firewall Administrator for an initial 12 month contract onsite in Sacramento, CA. The Firewall Administrator will be supporting a Firewall Modernization CR (Change Request). They will work directly with the customers Firewall Engineering team to assist with Firewall rule updates / cleanup, perform pre-change and post-change validations (connectivity/port checks, log review), provide troubleshooting during change windows, update change documentation and implementation notes, maintain ServiceNow tickets and update operational runbooks.
Required Skills:
- 2 – 5 years of experience working as a Firewall Administrator, providing troubleshooting, rule analysis, changes, etc. around Palo Alto PAN-OS and Cisco Firewalls.
- Understanding of basic network fundamentals (IP/subnetting, routing basics, DNS, TCP/UDP).
- Understanding of Firewall concepts (rules/ACLs, NAT, traffic flows).
- Experience using ServiceNow to support trouble tickets.
- Exposure to Splunk and QRadar.
- Basic Linux troubleshooting experience.
- AWS fundamentals (VPC, Security Groups, NACLs).
