Our client, a telecommunications company, in Englewood, CO, is currently in need of a Network Engineer for 18-month contracts in Englewood, CO. The consultant will work a mix of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote as part of a hybrid schedule in Englewood, CO in support of our client’s DOCSIS Network Lab Team. The Network Engineer will join an existing team of 50 responsible for Access Architecture for our client’s red network including HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax), and FTTH (Fiber to the Home) as part of the sustaining engineering team. This is the team that develops the environment to be deployed to the field, troubleshoots field issues reported, and works with vendors for root/cause and fixes. Service provider route switch, CPE, or CMTS/DOCSIS is required.
Required Skills:
- 3 years of experience of network engineering with layer2/3 and service provide route and switch
- Working knowledge of DOCSIS and EPON Standards
- CMTS Platform experience: Casa C100G, Arris E600, Cisco cBR8
- Switch Platform experience: Cisco NCS/ASR and Juniper QFX/ACX
- EPON Platform experience: Adtran, Vecima, and Commscope
- Routing Protocol experience: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, v4/v6 Multiicast
- DOCSIS 3.0 of hands-on experience, would prefer someone that has 3.1 exposure. Understanding of specs as well as upstream protocols, and parametric test/results.
- Working knowledge of DOCSIS and EPON Standards
- Must be a self-starter, be able to chase down solutions, attention to detail, and be a go-getter and adaptive.
- Excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills are required. Cross-team communication, writing technical documentation, and detailed test plans.
- Must be onsite in Englewood, CO, and be able to work onsite as part of a hybrid schedule
- Hybrid schedule is currently 3 days onsite and 2 days remote each week
